Warnings: A few characters have wandered in from another DMC film called Around the World Under the Sea. (A video clip which introduces the characters in the film may be viewed here.) They did that in another of my stories, too. It isn’t necessary to read that one first, but having a look at the clip will help, and will also demonstrate that Dr Philip Volker is just as pretty as Illya.

A/N: At the beginning of The Rosebay Affair: Part IV, Kittridge was going off to Greenland to join a mission headed by a non-UNCLE scientist named Philip Volker. ride_4ever’s prompts included aurora borealis and dogsleds, so following up on the Greenland mission came to mind immediately.

Not quite at the eleventh hour, but almost!

elmey's prompt was for an Egg that had to do with fixing things that are cracked: Kintsugi. The prompt included a link with information and photos for those who would like to learn more about the art of 'golden joinery'.

This wonderful prompt inspired me to write an Egg-size (ostrich egg-size?) continuation (crossover/fusion/mash-up - I'm not even sure how to label it) of a story I wrote years back which had a flowering plant as one of the characters. The earlier story is not essential to the plot of this year's Egg!

The rain drops were large and cold. The young plant had grown even as the cool sun grew cooler and the chestnut tree’s leaves turned to gold. Up on the roof, the tomato plants still yielded fruit, but now the man came in the evenings to put a cover made of wood and plastic over them and he didn’t fertilise often. Around the young plant many were preparing to sleep.
