I think anger is an outgrowth of grief, and inconsequential things can set one off so that's not a problem--though I get the feeling John is almost as angry at himself as he is at Moriarty. All the chances he missed, down to having studied at Bart's at the same time without meeting Sherlock.

It's not that the fever was described unconvincingly, it's just that I thought all the heat of his emotions on the roof would have been enough to cause the thirst; it was partly my laziness, I didn't actually translate the 39C into F in my head! Maybe Mike needs to say "it's a little high" for the sake of us metrically illiterate Americans ;)
