I love how we only get pieces of what went on, as John's memory slowly comes back to him in flashes. I like the mystery, how John tries to use his senses, when his memory fails. With a powerful drug in his system, and the stresses he's experienced over the past few days, including this sudden major life change, his blackout seems plausible. And those flashes, plus the little glimpses of Sherlock's eyes, the lovebites, and Sherlock's smiles have more sensual punch, than if they had been laid out in a more conventional fashion.

So, I really like the structure here, the passionate beginning to their lovemaking, the abrupt fadeout, and then John's return to consciousness (in which time moves forward smoothly again), leading to his attempt to unwind just what happened.

And Mr. Scientific!Sherlock with his "mutual grooming", etc. etc. :D I am glad, though, he sees fit to help John past his faintness and get some food into him.
