I agree with you. I think Sherlock's pushed sexuality to the side, maybe because no one's ever interested him sufficiently or because he experimented with it physically and felt he'd gained whatever knowledge he needed on the subject or he had an experience that hurt and he didn't find the gain worth the pain.

I've been reading a fair amount of Sherlock!fic the past few months and found a broad spectrum of speculation about the topic and the series seems to be taking the subject quite seriously, too, which is fascinating.
