What a fascinating world you're creating here. What strikes me most about this chapter is that, even though Napoleon is not present for much of it, the ache of longing he feels for Illya invades every image. We watch Illya and Anton making love, and wonder if Napoleon is picturing that, too. And if so, what it's doing to his heart.
