MFU Fanfic: Without a Word (Parts I - VII)

This story starts from this screencap from The Off Broadway Affair , but is not connected to the episode at all. The lively discussion which followed the posting of the first screencap in late February sparked the idea. Subsequent screenscaps such as An invitation? A warning? and Sleight of Hand? as well as evocative ones posted by other cousins, and the ensuing lively discussions, inspired the continuation.

Part I can stand by itself as well as being the first chapter of the expanded version of Without a Word. I see the action of the story occurring somewhere between two of my other stories, Overtures and Bare Hands.

There are slash and het implications in the early chapters. By Part IV they are no longer merely implications, the rating becomes NC-17 and I wouldn't consider it work safe from then on.

MFU Fanfic: The Rosebay Affair

As often happens with me, a picture provoked a few thousand words. This little, fluffy fic is the result of one of the beautiful photos posted on mfu_yumdaily on 31 August 2010 by [livejournal.com profile] dhswi in her post entitled "Let's tiptoe through the tulips" click here ). (This story was also posted on Network Command and MFUWSS .)

As ever, [livejournal.com profile] utopiantrunks offered kind encouragement. All the faults are mine.

Title: The Rosebay Affair
Author: saki101
Fandom: Man from UNCLE
Pairing: Illya/Napoleon
Genre: Slash
Rating: PG-13
Disclaimer: The usual, because MFU is not mine.

Excerpt:
“Protect him!”

“What?” the others replied drowsily, for the summer sun was warm on their leaves. The days had burned bright for months and the ground was dry around their upper roots, but their leaves were supple and green because the tap root was old and strong and dipped down to the underground stream running along the bedrock far beneath the soil. They were never thirsty and could enjoy the hot, cloudless days.

MFU Fanfic: Through the Invisible - Volume II (Part 1/4)

This is a continuation of the story I wrote for Down the Chimney 2009. The story has stayed in my mind these several months and so I am attempting a sequel. It is only the first act, so I'm posting it here until the rest is written.

Volume I may be found here - Through the Invisible.

Thanks always go to [livejournal.com profile] utopiantrunks for all her tutelage. Mistakes and other shortcomings are mine.

Title: Through the Invisible - Volume II, Post 1 of 4
Author: saki101
Fandom: Man from UNCLE
Pairing: Illya/Napoleon
Genre: AU, Slash
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: ~10K
Author's Notes: Volume II is still a WIP. The story resumes a moment after the other ended. It is early May 1959 in London. (26/9/2010 - Last scene expanded.)

Excerpt:
Until he heard Napoleon’s steps on the tiles at the bottom of the stairs, Illya didn‘t move. When he did turn, Napoleon paused, just past the first set of doors, his eyes riveted on Illya’s face. Illya walked towards Napoleon slowly. We’ve parted and reunited so often in the past few months I believed you were comfortable with it, confident. “You thought I was coming in person to deliver bad news, didn’t you?” he asked.

MFU Fanfic: Blue Diamonds

The first part of this story is the second Egg I posted at MFU Writers Survival School. Charismaz requested a N/I preslash story, a rocky road egg, of pondering thoughts and dance for her Easter surprise.

Once started, the story grew well beyond the word limit for the Easter Eggs, so here is the first part (Egg, originally posted on MFUWSS) and the rest of the story. (Also posted on MUNCLE.)

Rating: Between PG-13 and NC-17
Word Count: 2790
Disclaimer: MFU is not mine and no money is being made.

Excerpt:
Illya had paused near the bottom of the steps for a moment before entering the room. It had been long enough to draw the appraising gazes of several sets of eyes, despite the gloom of the club. The dazzling white of his open-necked shirt had helped to attract attention, the shimmer of his long, blond hair in the light from the top of the stairs had helped even more, but for those close enough to see in the low light, it was the very snug cut of his black trousers that had helped most of all. Discreetly, Illya scanned the tables near him and as much of the dance floor as was visible from where he stood, then he descended the final two steps and made his way towards the dance floor for a more thorough reconnaissance.

MFU fanfic: Through the Invisible - Post 1/6

This is my first post, returning to Muncle fandom after a 40+ year break! It all started when I saw "The Russian Angel Affair" and "Malchik Gey" and the intervening decades just disappeared.

Title: Through the Invisible: Volume I, Post 1 of 6
Author: saki101
Fandom: Man from UNCLE
Pairing: Illya/Napoleon
Genre: AU, Slash
Rating: NC-17 eventually
Word Count: ~52K (all of Volume I)
Summary: The story begins in autumn 1958 in London. Illya is a principal dancer in a ballet company; he already has an international reputation. Napoleon is an artist who is on the brink of international recognition. Their worlds intersect on an opening night.
Author's Notes: Originally written for MUNCLE Down the Chimney 2009 for [livejournal.com profile] atheneparthenos. The prompts were mistletoe, exploding crackers and unusual present. Slight changes have been made to the DtC version, especially in Part 6.

Excerpt:
The last light was fading beyond the rooftops across the road, the brief surge of gold that had marked the end of the afternoon squeezed to a thin line beneath the leaden clouds. Napoleon watched the colours of the street scene shift, the details lost to shadow.
